It was decided early on that during the study tour, students would stay with local, Australian families to give them a greater understanding of Australian family life. Our students thoroughly enjoyed this, as it not only introduced them to a different way of family life, but gave them a sense of independence, as students had to make their way to and from their homestay family, to the English Language School.
English language lessons were provided in the morning at a language school in the Sydney suburb of Bondi Junction. In the afternoon, cultural activities took place. These ranged from visits to local universities, to a visit to a wild life park in the far west of Sydney.
Students enjoyed the study tour and found it worthwhile (with some wanting to stay!).
It certainly broadened students’ horizons and gave them a sense of the wider world.
This year, we look forward to another, exciting, international study tour!
